  • What can I say except....I wish I found this school so much earlier!!!! It would have saved so much heartache for my kids and I if I had, but thank g-d I found it, better late then never they say, right? I have both of my children here at this school, one in 7th and the other in the upper school in 9th grade. Both of my kids love this school so much, they are so supported here have made tight friendships, and have grown by leaps and bounds compared to the other schools they had gone to where support was not given to the extent that SCVi gives. They are both now so much more confident and growing into their own individuality beautifully by leaps and bounds. If your looking for a school that is their for you and your child's learning then this is it! I don't think any other school can compare.

  • Speaking from experience - my 5th grader and my 3rd grader have both been here since kindergarten, and I volunteer hundreds of hours per year - if you want to educate your "whole child" and not just have him or her boiled down to a test score and GPA, this is the school in this valley to attend. My kids are on par for math and science, they can type properly, the older one's writing and the younger one's spelling are above average, and they are both reading about 2 years past grade level. In addition, they are learning hands on about music, art, and languages other than English. They are interacting with and caring about kids who are much differently abled than they are. They've been in control of their own academic AND social-emotional goal setting and individual project planning and learning presentations since kindergarten. They know what the big jr high and high school projects are and look forward to having their turn at them. They take advantage of the multitude of leadership and volunteer opportunities available to them and have been able even to create their own. I understand that our environment here can appear to be chaotic to some, but we see it as an organic evironment, constantly changing to meet the needs of the student body. Is it perfect or the answer to everyone's education dilemmas? Of course not; no place is. But that's part of the point here too - we thrive on individuality - our family's particular needs are best served here, where our kids have access to all those opportunities I listed above and more.
